Metal Fabrication Team Lead

Florida Detention Systems, a premier national detention equipment contractor, is currently seeking a metal fabrication team lead for its security gate division. The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of metal fabrication experience with excellent MIG and Stick welding ability. Must be able to pass an NCIC Background check and have a clean driving record with a valid driver’s license. The candidate must be willing to travel nationally for extended periods of time. The position will fabricate gates and components at our main shop in Melrose, FL, deliver gates to the jobsite and install per plan specifications.rnrnDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: rn• Ability to cut and fabricate parts to plan/print specs. • Effectively manage a team of 1-2 people assisting in fabrication and installation. rn• Fabricate gates and install hardware per print specs.rn• Able to align metal parts or structural components per plan specifications.rn• Must know how to layout most sheet metal patterns proficientlyrn• Must be self-motivated; work with limited supervision.rn• May be assigned additional tasks as required.rnREQUIRED SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS: rn• Must pass a NCIC Background Checkrn• 5 years of MIG & Stick welding experiencern• Must be able to read blueprints/plansrn• Extensive travel required rn• Basic PC and Email knowledgern• Working knowledge of metal fabrication equipment, terms and toolsrn• Ability to communicate and present information professionally to small groups rn• Must have a high school diploma or equivalentrnrnFlorida Detention Systems is a Drug Free Workplace and Equal Opportunity Employer.
