Hillsides - Housekeeper
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Other duties may be assigned.
The essential functions include:
• Perform the housekeeping and cleaning duties in the cottages, offices, and school, and for offsite locations as needed
• Keep walls, windows, and sills clean
• Wash kitchen countertops and appliance exteriors, refill soap and towel dispensers, and clean and straighten cabinets
• Wash bathroom sinks, toilets, mirrors, and other surfaces; refill towel and toilet paper dispensers and refill soap dispensers
• Vacuum rugs, and dust living areas and office areas; straighten bookshelves, dust or clean tables and desks
• Clean behind laundry room appliances and sink; clean the dryer lint trap and washer and dryer exteriors
• Turn off any appliances not in use
• Mop vinyl floors in kitchens, bathrooms and hallways
• Empty waste containers, sweep front and back entrances and trash areas
• Report any maintenance problems through proper procedures
• Report housekeeping problems, concerns or ideas to the supervisor
• Other duties as required

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, office personnel, and other employees

• Ability to work independently and with others – including other employees, clients and members of the public -- in face-to-face contexts
• Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and manage time, meet deadlines and perform duties under time constraints
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing work demands

• Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints

Physical Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to talk or hear in order to give and receive information and instructions
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls

• Visual acuity, ability to adjust focus and peripheral vision
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Equipment and Computer Software Skills and Abilities:
• Able to use the equipment necessary to perform the housekeeping tasks—vacuum cleaner, mop, broom, carpet sweeper, other equipment as required

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Regularly work indoors in a variety of environments
• Potential exposure to blood borne pathogens
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and CERTIFICATES
• Professional demeanor and an understanding and appreciation of the needs of the clients and agency as to cleanliness
• Valid California drivers license, driving record and personal vehicle insurance acceptable to Hillsides’ insurance carrier
